Andrew Hinchey, owner-operator and Head Coach at SBV, has spent a number years competing around the world as a member of Team Canada. He has earned his country two silver medals on the NORCECA tour. He has also represented Canada playing professionally in the National Volleyball League in the states. As he retired from competing for Team Canada he began coaching with the National Team Program to give back to his sport and to develop future Olympians and World Champions.

During his career Coach Hinchey also spent a year playing on beaches all over Australia and on their National tour. While in Australia he discovered his true passion for coaching while working with the team at the University of Melbourne. When he came home he was offered the head coaching position at Durham College where he lead the team to three successful seasons winning the OCAA’s coach of the year in 2010. After returning home he was also offered a teaching position with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.

Now settled in Peterborough, coach Hinchey is looking forward to giving back to the sport that has taken him around the world and helped him reach his lifelong goals.
